I have been employed in the GFPS district for twenty-five years. Fifteen of those years have been serving ELL students with five years in the elementary and middle school setting and ten years in the high school setting. I am the Lutheran Social Services cultural orientation liaison, sit of the Board of Global Friends, and am the Building Bridges adviser at Red River High School. In my positions, I must be a cultural mediator between New American Refugees and native speaking individuals. These positions have inspired my interest, passion, and commitment to creating cultural responsiveness.
